Akhshar and Akhsartag

Akhsar and Akhsartag are reimagined here as Ossetian twin heroes shaped not only by myth but by lived presence. Traditionally, they embody strength, unity and tragic destiny, their story marked by love, misunderstanding and an irreversible separation that leaves behind a lasting cultural echo. In this project, the twin archetype is approached less as a fixed narrative and more as a tension between similarity and difference, closeness and fracture.

For this series, I worked with Ossetian models from different countries who unexpectedly resembled each other, creating an uncanny sense of doubling that felt almost mythological in itself. The shoot became a way of translating the idea of the twins into lived reality, where identity is not only inherited through story but also repeated in faces.
