Falaka

Ottoman Empire, an influential power from the 14th to the early 19th century, employed foot whipping as a means to punish homosexuality. Within the exhibition, photographs unveil scenes of public floggings, where individuals were subjected to excruciating pain and humiliation. "Falaka" reveals the collective trauma experienced by the LGBTQ+ community and expose the deep-rooted prejudice embedded within the legal systems of the time.
